Guest guest
They roles of a dysfunctional family - to me its like taking a quiz in a magazine? What color lipstick are you? What's your strappy sandal style? Which one are you? I think after puberty I was mostly the Hero, but I've been all of these. I think I was the Hero/Mascot for my dad and the Scapegoat for my Nada.Even at work I'm usually the Hero, but then people will try to scapegoat me. http://www.joy2meu.com/DysfunctionalFamilies.htm
Guest guest
Caretaker & Scapegoat. Until my brother lost his mind at 18. (Not being sarcastic here--he started having psychotic episodes at 18 and was eventually diagnosed with a form of bi-polar disorder). Then, I got to take over his role as hero. By the way--you totally crack me up! You are incredibly witty & funny. In fact, I started to read your post before I noticed who wrote it. As I was laughing over the brilliance of " strappy sandal style " I thought: " Oh! That's too much! That must be Girlscout! " Had to give props, Girlscout! By the way, I'm pink glossy lipstick and bejeweled silver sandals, in addtion to being a Hero, if anyone was wondering, On Mon, Feb 28, 2011 at 3:39 PM, kyjohnson40days wrote: > > > Caretaker & Scapegoat. Guest guest
Ha! I love this. It's funny b/c my T and I were just discussing roles within families yesterday. I was for sure the Family Here from about age 5 to 18. For various reasons, I was dethroned until age 29 when re-coronated until about age 40. Now I don't know what I am, within our family. I might be the Scapegoat behind my back, that is I haven't been criticized to my face, b/c she knows I'll be outta there. > > They roles of a dysfunctional family - to me its like taking a quiz in a > magazine? Guest guest
Fiona, you make a great point. I'm pretty sure I'm the scapegoat now behind my back too - based on the hate mail I get every once in a while. They can hate away, cuz I've moved on with my life. > > > Ha! I love this.
