Guest guest
Claire has posted a great topic about mothering and whether or not we can be good parents. My response to this is that I'm better than my mother, who was a little better than her mother, who was a little better than her mother, who was just evil. My mom is a hermit/waif/histronic BPD. Her mother was a Witch/Queen. Her mother was just a Witch. I'm not BPD, but I do have fleas and I do find myself so frustrated with my child sometimes when she's snotty or rude to me when I feel as though I try *so hard* to treat her with more kindness and respect than my mother did. I'd also never dream of, say, slapping her in the face like my mom did to me, or publicly humiliating her. But I'm definitely far from perfect. Anybody else have BDP that runs through the generations? I've talked with my cousin about this and we feel like in another generation or two we might have it worked out of our family, but honestly, it's taken a catastrophic effect on a whole lot of people. Guest guest
I don't know if my grandnada had BPD or another personality disorder, but she definitely allowed my nada to be abused and abused nada herself. My nada suffered incestual sexual abuse and emotional abuse too, so there had to be some mental inadequecies going on there. > > Claire has posted a great topic about mothering and whether or not we can be good parents. > > My response to this is that I'm better than my mother, who was a little better than her mother, who was a little better than her mother, who was just evil. > > My mom is a hermit/waif/histronic BPD.
