Guest guest
I have also just found out that my elderly (93) mother is BPD .I don't know how I survived her rages, narcissism constant blaming and projecting her shortcomings on me. I am her only child , and myself mother of 2 and grandmother of 2. She has alienated her whole family and few people who tried to befriend her with her horrendous behaviour and of course,it is never her fault.I am so happy to have found this site and realize I am not alone in this. It is amazing to read about and recognize the experiences I have gone through for so long.Thank you
Guest guest
Welcome Jocelyne and all new members, Yes, it is indeed VERY validating to find out that *its not you*. It is truly validating to discover that these awful, chronically negative, abusive behaviors actually constitute a diagnosable mental disorder, and that you as the child did not cause your mother to be mentally ill, and you can't cure her. We're all here keeping each other company and giving each other moral support on our individual journeys toward healing. It IS uncanny how many of our experiences with our personality-disordered mother or father are so similar. That's what floored me when I first joined, several years ago, now: the eerie feeling that I wrote the posts I was reading from other members because the incidents and behaviors being described were so very similar to my own. So, welcome to all of you. Feel free to share or comment or just read, as it suits you. Here, its all about you and your needs. -Annie > > I have also just found out that my elderly (93) mother is BPD .I don't > know how I survived her rages, narcissism constant blaming and > projecting her shortcomings on me.
