Guest guest
Throughout my nada's adult life, she was classic high functioning--full of anxiety, reasonable one minute and then acting out the next. Never knew what set her off. I was the youngest and most of the time was in the flying monkey role, my half-sister the 'bad seed' from an earlier marriage and my father the kind but 'lame assed' provider--he never had enough initiative (her words). Earlier in her life she played the mouse, the hermit, then the witch. However, since her mother died and she perceives herself the matriarch she is playing the queen to the hilt. She is now 78. As my sister and I have turned away from her and her abusive behaviors, she just ignores that we have gone low contact with her. Every time one of us gets together with her, she has to bring up one of her ugly faux pas and tell the story COMPLETELY different, with her as the heroine of the story who saves the day. It is actually quite funny, except for the fact these were very hurtful experiences at the time. It is bad enough that she never apologizes or accepts responsibility; it is untenable that she now claims those events as some sort triumph of her maternal skills. I hate the bitch & sincerely hope she dies sooner than later, has her interview with St and goes straight to hell.
