I can see that some posts here are getting offtrack. From my reading the posts,

I don't think that the girl/woman's sexual orientation has any effect on the

meaning of the post, so I see no reason to leave it in, or comment on the " gay

lifestle " any more than you would the " Black lifestyle, " assuming that all

African Americans live the same life. You may want to debate this, but please do

it offlist.

's good friend died recently, so I am trying to settle this early rather

than wait. If you have any concerns, email me at Randi @BPDCentral.com.

Thank you. I'm sorry I posted my reply before seeing this post.

Dear Randi,

Thank you. That was the point I had tried to make originally, perhaps not

clearly enough. I apologize if I misdirected the discussion - I was disconcerted

because for a safe and supportive community like this one, the references (some

with clear negative undertones) to a person's sexual orientation seemed out of

place.

Again, apologies, and thanks for settling the issue.

Thank you Randi. I don't get offended easily, but I don't think attacking

minorities is something a board that should be a " safe space " should be doing.

As a minority myself I am upset when people assume a group of people all live

the same life just because of some specific trait they share. I would not feel

safe if people were suggesting that about me, especially if it was implied this

" lifestyle " was somehow a bad thing.
