Weird packages?

Has any of your nadas/fadas ever just sent you some random package with no

explination at all?

I've been avoiding nada's calls for months (for years if I really want to be

honest with myself) and communicate minimally via email. This weekend a big

envelope shows up with my tap costume in it from when I was 12. No note. But

she also took the time to send an Easter card separately just signed " Love,

Mom. " It also had a separate piece of paper inside quoting Whoopi Goldberg " You

can say whatever you want about me, but talk about my daughter and I'll beat

your ass up. "

What the h??? I guess some folks might say it's sweet, but I think it's just

weird. I have no attachments to Easter or that costume. They'll both end up in

the recycling bin/donation pile. What a waste.

There may be some attachment to the idea of you when you were very young and she

remembers. Perhaps she would dress you up. My nada used to go on, and on about

that...at least she did before I stopped talking with her completely. There is

something about obsessing on that time when you couldn't talk back and she had

complete control. My nada's favorite story was when I was five and she dressed

me up to go and play with the neighbor's little boy...and how I never liked

dresses so she had to put pants on me. I am not five, I don't remember those

things...but for her it's some weird trip down bpd memory lane...I read

something about how it's very common. My brother said it reminded him of an

episode of Criminal Minds. P.S. My mother used to mail boxes of thrift store

clothes, old clothes with holes in them. I used to walk the package down to the

salvation army. Thank goodness that finally stopped.

Yikes!! Sounds like she's trying to guilt you in the weirdest way possible. I

agree, sounds like a weird trip down BP memory lane! haha! I'm NC with my nada,

and she doesn't send packages (yet), but I've had similar experiences.

I think my nada had a hard time realizing that I was growing up and wouldn't be

her minion forever. Once when I was in my late teens she put a picture of me and

her when I was a child on my bed along with a children's book (uhhh...). Very

creepy. I tried my best to avoid shopping with her (one of the worst blowups

ever was prom dress shopping), but once she bought me this heinous (and

expensive) ballgown and absolutely forced me to put it on in front of her so she

could look at me. It was sick and disturbing.

Nadas like their kids best before they start showing independence...so perhaps

in her twisted mind she thinks sending you a childhood costume will remind you

(as it reminded her) of when your relationship was nice and normal and you were

innocent and oh, if only things could be that way again if you weren't sure a

terrible daughter. Hmm. It's guuuuilt and very, very creepy.

Ah, the bizarre behaviors of BPs.

Yes ma'am my nada was always getting up with the weird gifts. She even took

my childhood toys and taunted the dog with them so that I had to watch them

being destroyed - and then mailed me the remains. UGGGGH Sick, sick woman.

I just had an " aha " moment about the non-communication part of this original

question. It had to do with why just send a childhood artifact out of the blue?

No note, nothing. No indication of why this item is coming your way (are you

being blindsided?)...here is my take. My bpd nada believes there is some cosmic

connecting link between her brain and my brain. I should know telepathically

what she is thinking. She cannot discern the difference between her thinking and

the real world. My brother calls it " the bubble " and I think that's a great way

to visually separate. It's insanity so don't get drawn into it, like I did most

of my adult life. P.S Girlscout, my mother sold all my childhood memories. Part

of me thinks, good riddance but it also makes me feel very sad. I miss any

happy connection with my past.

Weird packages, been there done that, even gotten weird packages from nada's

monkeys!  Especially when they drop them off at work, now that person is

referred to as the creepy clown lady because she was creepy and she dropped off

what she claimed to be dad's clowns which I had NEVER seen in my life and were

in awfully good condition to have been his.  (he had been deceased for 7 years)
