Guest guest
Hey, gang... I have belonged to this board for a long time under another ID and just figured out how to make a less-easily-identifiable alias under my profile ;-) It has been a while since I have been here, but a recent trigger plus Mother's Day had me itching to drop in for a visit. Some of you may have seen this article that came out a few days ago. What's great about it is all the comments from people with nadas. Not so often that I see so many people like us commenting on a major site like that. http://parenting.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/05/05/call-your-mother/?smid=fb-nytimes Re: the FB profile meme, I put up a picture of someone who has been an excellent mother figure to me. But just as easily I could have ignored it. I agree it's kind of hard to watch everyone else adoring their parents when at best I feel ambivalent about mine. Guest guest
My favorite post on that article was, " Is there phone service in hell? But I'm not bitter or anything. Guest guest
Ha, I love this comment " I do have lots of friends who have warm, supportive mothers, and I can watch and relate to that about as much as I relate to watching that show on Prairie Dogs...fascinating, but not something I can personally understand. " Happy Prairie Dog Day Everyone!!!!!!! > > > My favorite post on that article was, " Is there phone service in hell? But > I'm not bitter or anything. Guest guest
Happy surviving nada day everyone!!!!!...I would like to observe a moment of silence for everyone on this list who had to parent themselves or find a substitute mother. Neighbors, friends of friends, aunts, grandmothers...all those substitute mothers out there who had to fill in. Thank you!!!! P.S. Call my nada, not. ________________________________ To: WTOAdultChildren1 Sent: Sun, May 8, 2011 7:26:39 AM Subject: Re: Re: NYT: " Call Your Mother " Ha, I love this comment " I do have lots of friends who have warm, supportive mothers, and I can watch and relate to that about as much as I relate to watching that show on Prairie Dogs...fascinating, but not something I can personally understand.
