At the support group for the adult children of narcissistic pd parents, one of

the members came up with:

Happy " I Mothered Myself " Day!

I really liked that too and wanted to share it!

Also from that group, here is a link to an interesting article discussing the

trait of empathy from medical, scientific, moral, ethical, and legal points of

view. The main point of the key researcher, Baron-Cohen, is that in his opinion

its the lack of empathy that is at the root of all evil, and he's spent a

lifetime studying the presence and absence (and gradations) of empathy and

attempting to discover why some people have it and some don't.

I found it interesting that he discusses that someone with low empathy isn't

necessarily " evil. " He categorizes " low/zero empathy positives " as those with

autism and similar conditions who may be very intelligent and who choose

lifestyles and professions that do not involve much interaction with fellow

human beings. He categorizes " low/zero empathy negatives " as those with

psychopathy and other personality disorders who actively commit crimes and who

repeatedly, chronically inflict suffering and harm on others due to lack of

empathy and lack of conscience.
