The most likely thing is that your dad did mention your trip to your brother,

who told your nada. Dad probably mentioned it without thinking (he slipped up)

but he's too embarrassed and ashamed to admit it to you. Older people tend to

get sloppy memories, too, as part of the natural course of events of aging, so

if he did mention your trip its possible that it was not a deliberate attempt at

subterfuge. Does your brother have access to your dad's e-mail, perhaps?

In any case, how horrible for you to get ambushed like that. Perhaps its better

from now on to just call him a couple of days or even just hours ahead for more

of a " surprise " visit, so dad doesn't have a chance to let your plans slip

again.

my hubby and dad and starts showering the kids with love, kisses and presents

(if i could have vomitted there i would have but i was in a state of shock of

how she knew) my dad was in shock too as he had told noone! it was freaky i tell

you...no one knew of our trip and the only way she could have know is if she

broke into my email account...but she is a computer illeterate or maybe she got

her flying monkey - my brother to do it for her...scary to think about it but

even the thought of a private investigator?! anyone have any thoughts on

this?!?!?! its still a puzzle in my mind.

Is it possible that the travel site where you booked the ticket could have

accidentally sent your nada the itinerary as well because it stored her email as

a contact of yours from the past?

Either way - awful! She must have gone through security with the gifts just to

ambush you. I bet you were glad to get on that plane!

That's really creepy. I have chills reading about it. You must've felt so

ambushed and, in a way, violated. I mean, somehow, she found out about something

private.
