Thank you to everyone for the support regarding her calls to my work phone. I

needed that.

Yesterday, instead of nada calling me at work, my therapist called. Nada had

called her office, to tell her that I was not contacting her about her medical

problems!! I'm sorry, but does it get any more frickin' intrusive than that?!?!

Of course my therapist was very nice about it, offering some empathy over the

phone... but wow, REALLY nada???

Just had to share....

Wow, I think that gets the " most intrusive, most entitled " award of the week.

Well, at least your therapist now has first-hand knowledge of just exactly how

intrusive, demanding, and entitled your nada behaves, and how she treats you.

It seems to me that to your nada you are not an adult who is equal to her. You

do not have equal rights with her, you do not have feelings, you do not need to

be treated with respect: instead you are an object she owns, her possession, and

you are " stealing " yourself from her. She wants her possession back.

Maybe now that your therapist has had first hand experience with your nada the

bulldozer, your therapist can be even more helpful to you.

If not, then, maybe find a therapist who is experienced and successful with

treating the adult survivors of child abuse, or those who have PTSD.

GAME ON!

Again, the beauty of this board... YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

Nada has called my therapist, tried to get her license pulled, tried to get her

fired when the therapist refused to talk to her, etc. etc. All of which she

shared with me on my Birthday a 2 years ago during my son' football game in

front of a group of parent friends.

Oh yeah! Your Nada has upped the ante here ~ be prepared for more!

However... and is is a HUGE bonus... your therapist can see Nada clearly for

what she is ... if there was EVER a tiny sliver of doubt in her mind.... it's

GONE! That means all the energy and help goes on you 150%!!!!

Congrats on have a Nada that ABSOLUTELY crazy! It helps a lot to get through it

all when there is NO doubt anywhere in your mind or those assisting you!

Oh my goodness -

you are DEFINITELY not alone!

My nada used to call my therapists and pump them for information.

When I was hospitalized for an eating disorder and depression, she'd call my

psychiatrist, therapist AND the nursing staff and pump them for info and

harangue them.

One time she called the pay phone in the unit (the one for the patients) and

this really depressed, quiet, sweet young man answered, and she started

asking him very pointed questions about me, and he was really taken aback

and upset, and he was speechless, and she started screaming and cursing at

him, and he got so freaked out he burst out crying, ran for a nurse and

handed the phone to her. And he was really upset for a while afterwards.

They banned my mother from calling the staff. They couldn't ban her from

calling the pay phone but during a meeting between patients and staff they

brought up the subject of my mother's phone calls and talked to the patients

about how to deal with them.

It was around that time I stopped all phone contact with my mother

I agree, calling 's therapist is shading over into stalking behaviors.

I hope you can get some relief from this, , I know how frustrating and

stressful and even scary it can be to be relentlessly badgered by someone you

don't want any contact with.

Thank you for all the support. I really appreciate how helpful it is that I can

come here when I'm feeling overwhelmed and alone.Â

Wow. Seriously? That's crazy! I've been worried about my mom trying to contact

my therapist, since her full name appears on my statements and my mom likes to

look at my bank account online. And knowing my mom, once she has a name she can

do a scary amount of digging to get info; she's well practiced in searching

through the internet and public records. =/

Like the others have said, at least now your therapist has gotten a first hand

look at what your nada is like! Hopefully she'll be able to help you even

better.
