Guest guest Posted October 6, 2011 Report Share Posted October 6, 2011 Family Perspectives on Borderline Personality Disorder Basics and Beyond A conference for people to better understand its symptoms, medication options, and early detection/intervention Atlanta – October 05, 2011 -- The National Education Alliance for Borderline Personality Disorder (NEA-BPD), and The National Alliance on Mental Illness - Georgia (NAMI-Georgia), today announced a conference for professionals, family members, and those with borderline personality disorder (BPD) to better understand BPD, its symptoms, treatment, medication options, and early detection/intervention. Titled Family Perspectives on Borderline Personality Disorder Basics and Beyond, the one-day Forum will be held Friday, November 4, at The Center, 453 Freedom Parkway, Atlanta GA 30307, from 8:30am to 4:30pm. The objectives of the conference are to advance the understanding of professionals, families, and consumers about the complexities of borderline personality, according to Course Directors D. Hoffman, PhD, NEA-BPD president, and Frederic Bien, PhD, NEA-BPD board member. In addition, there will be forums on family issues such as the impact of emotional involvement, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), coping skills strategies from a family member, raising children, and perspectives when a loved one does not seek treatment.
