An earthquake estimated to have a magnitude of 4.3 by the U.S. Geological Survey, while the Oklahoma Geological Survey measured it at 5.1, rattled a large portion of the state, even being felt in neighboring states. The epicenter was located near Norman. Ross, Manager Risk Management for Western Farmers Electrical ative in Anadarko, said he knew right away it was an earthquake when their building started shaking. His office is on the third floor of the four-floor office building located in the northeast side of town. " There was very distinct movement, " Ross said. He said the movement caused the window blinds to move back and forth and one of his co-workers who had a ball on his desk said the shaking caused the ball to move around. " Some people on my floor felt it very dramatically while others said they didn't feel much, " Ross said. This was not the first earthquake for Ross. He was living in Yukon, Canadian County, when he experienced an earthquake in the late 70's. " I was asleep when it happened, " he said. " I thought someone had broken into the house and hit the side of my bed. " When he checked out his house and found nothing, he went back to bed and to sleep, but he said he remembered the feeling. " It was an unusual experience and certainly got people's attention, " Ross said of the morning's earthquake. The more than 100 employees at the Western Farmers Electrical ative were not the only ones who reported feeling the quake. a McBride Savage said employees at the Wichita tribal offices reported feeling their building shake. Elsewhere in Caddo County all was still.
