Guest guest
Tammy, my son takes 300 mg of magnesium glycinate by klaire labs. I feel like this is what he can tolerate so far as I usually give it all at once so he can have a BM. He gets it once he comes home from school. My son has to survive in a class where two kids scream periodically. It definitely bothers him and affects his conentration. Should I add another 100 mg in am? Also did u mean vitamin b6 or vitamin d? What r the doses of other supps? In your opinion, what would help with stimming? My son is being treated for clostridia and his tantrums have definitely reduced but now he is mouthing everything even more than before and has a lot of stimming. He is definitively more verbal and interactive but does'nt want to do any school work. Just wants to do mor physical stuff and loves his OT sessions. He is on zinc and his zinc/copper ratio is good. Guest guest
Ideally, I like to spread the mag out over the course of the day --but it's tough enough to get to take it in the first place so I settle for what I can get with minimal stress and they both love the foot soaks. For sure, I would try to work up if you feel your guy needs that extra push to get him through the day. Bless his little heart - neither one of my guys could function with screamers in the classroom. That's gotta interfere with concentration big time. I give both B6 and D along with the magnesium. I'm pretty generous with the D in the winter time. gets roughly 2500-3500 I.U's and Tom gets less because he takes CLO. Both boys take 50 mg's of B6 (P5P) and Tom takes a B complex in addition to that.I wish I knew what to do about the stimming! Tom's has been soooo soooo bad now that winter is here and he's not busy with sports. He's come such a long way, but I use the stimming as a gauge because it's ever-present. I think if I were you, I'd sort of go with the flow for a while and nurture your son's desire to be physical. Something developmentally could be going on and you wouldn't want to stifle that. We compromise here - Tom learns difficult vocabulary words while jumping on the trampoline. Crazy, but it really works and we're both happy. Both boys used to put everything in their mouths and gnaw on anything and everything. (You should see the backs of my dining room chairs!) Zinc took that away. I've heard other people report that iron did the trick. I suspect it's often mineral derangement of one sort or another but I also think in many instances it could be a matter of a child becoming more aware of their mouth and experimenting with how to use it. If my child had apraxia, I'm not so sure I'd discourage him/her from mouthing (safe) objects. I have nothing to base that on except a gut feeling. If nothing else, it's good exercise : )-Tammy To: mb12valtrex Sent: Wednesday, January 4, 2012 10:19 AM Subject: Magnesium for noise sensitivity and stimming Tammy, my son takes 300 mg of magnesium glycinate by klaire labs. Guest guest
Tammy, I kinda agree with u. My son is exploring everything in the house. My husband and I are ice cream junkies and we have always been able to eat it in front of my kid as he hated it. Two nights ago, he looked at our ice creams and showed interest. When I asked him what he was looking at, he said he wanted ice cream. We were so excited that we decided that we would give him one digestive enzyme capsule and let him try a little bit. He took the ice cream from me and didn't want to give it back and started licking on it. He enjoyed it for the first time in his life which showed me that the sensitivity he had in his mouth to cold stuff is gone. I noticed that whenever he would get some detox, he would chew on stuff but this time he is licking things. Maybe he is exploring textures. Thanks for explaining it so well. is > > >> > > >> > > >> > > >>>Yes. > > >>> > > >>> > > >>> > > >>>________________________________ > > >>> De : l h <lheisse@> > > >>>À : mb12valtrex > > >>>Envoyé le : Mercredi 4 Janvier 2012 0h40 > > >>>Objet : RE: advice > > >>> > > >>> > > >>> > > >>>is he gluten casein free? Guest guest
Thanks ! I would love to try that. The only problem is that my son was found to have folate receptor antibodies and I have to ask his dan if occasional goat milk product would be ok to use. My son loved goat yogurt but our previous dan had told us to stop that also. Children with folate receptor antibodies should stop all milk products but I am not sure if goat milk is an issue or its just the cow milk. is > > > >> > > > >> > > > >> > > > >>>Yes. > > > >>> > > > >>> > > > >>> > > > >>>________________________________ > > > >>> De : l h <lheisse@> > > > >>>ÃÆ'€Â : mb12valtrex > > > >>>EnvoyÃÆ'© le : Mercredi 4 Janvier 2012 0h40 > > > >>>Objet : RE: advice > > > >>> > > > >>> > > > >>> > > > >>>is he gluten casein free?
