Hello,

I would like to make ketchup but the recipe in NT calls for fish

sauce. I'm one of those rare individuals who doesn't like seafood.

Can I just omit the fish sauce from Sally's recipe? Or does anyone

have another ketchup recipe?

Thanks,

Becky

My guess is that you probably can omit it from the recipe;

however, a small amount of fish sauce in a recipe really doesn't

make it taste like fish. It's a flavor enchancer. I put it in things

like salad dressing, in small amounts, and they don't come out

fishy tasting.

Unless you're allergic, I'd encourage you to try it with the fish sauce.

It's more of a flavor enhancer than it is a distinct flavor in my opinion.

Hi Becky, I have made ketchup with and without the fish sauce and I

like it both ways.

And it has kept along time without the fish sauce.
