Wooley worm......Re: frost here this morning

Hey Sharon,......we had our first wooley worm show up on the front step. Steve says it was orange in the middle and black at both ends. Seems like the colors were even if you put the black together and compared it to the orange stripe. So not sure what that means for NW Oregon? We haven't had frost yet, but its been in the high 30's at night and in the morning, with sunny days. But sadly thats suppose to change later this week to rain again.

So the "wooley worm has surfaced"! lol... :-)

Hugs and Love, Jackie

May the peace of God be with you...the love of Jesus enfold you...and the Spirit of Christ fill you.

JenI miss the moose! We had lots of moose at our cabin in Alaska. I enjoyed watching them come by our cabin and drink from our creek. Enjoy your "vacation"! How wonderful you were able to get so much done today. Isn't it amazing when those days happen? hugs

Yes, it's wishful thinking *lol* but there's nothing wrong with that.

My favourite season is fall, I love it so much...I also get a few vacations away from hubby (he is away moose hunting this week and goes away for a week of deer hunting as well. He isn't too far from home, and it's our family hunting camp and he is reachable). He left Saturday morning and comes back on Friday. I love him to pieces, but I also enjoy having the house to myself (well, to some extent because my 2 teen boys are home) but I don't have to cook much. It's a nice break.....

I actually felt REALLY good today and got lots of housework done, made tacos for supper and even went outside to do some weeding - which I have been putting off for over a month now, and I am so happy I felt like doing it today and it looks a lot better. I love working outside in the fall, but now I don't have the energy to do it. My calves and my back protested greatly afterwards, of course.....

So far the cooler weather hasn't affected me negatively. I am wearing different (warmer) clothes and slippers in the mornings. I am actually feeling better with the cooler weather. But I suppose that won't be the case when it gets cold. When it's cold I usually get stiff and have trouble walking. Who knows? Maybe it won't happen this winter. (wishful thinking perhaps:) warm hugs:)

Ah! The famous wooley worm!! Our wooley worm was all black and very wooley. I don't know exactly what that means either. It's cooler here today than it has been for days and cloudy off and on. It looks stormy in the distance. It was 75 here yesterday for a high but today it's supposed to be 68. We have a chance of rain today and building until Thursday. I'm glad to hear you are having such nice weather there, Jackie. Kind of makes up for summer heat, doesn't it?hugs SharonThis email is a natural hand made product. The

Wooly worm forecasters say that the size of the brown band of color will tell you what kind of winter is coming. Legend says that the thinner the brownish red bands, the harsher the winter will be. If the wooly worm is mostly brownish red in the middle, winter will be mild.

We had the fattest, totally black wooly worm with the longest "hair". hugs SharonThis email is a natural hand made product. Well I was wrong about the one here. Steve and I were talking about it tonight and I told him what Akiba posted, and he said ours had a larger all black middle, and orange/brown on the ends, so maybe we will be getting a harsher winter this year also. We have lots of wood stored as being out here we lose power when it gets icy, or windy. Which happens frequently during the winter. We don't seem to get as much snow as other areas, but today we had our first "dusting" of frost on the windshield. Rain expected for the weekend.

I didn't ask how fat our wooley worm was and if its hair/fur was longer. I wonder if yours was fat because it was storing up for a harsh winter, like the bears? lol....
