Guest guest
So I went to an appt with my T, my car broke down on the way - that became like a 3 hour ordeal. Finally got back and I was laid off. Our company is in trouble and I wasn't busy. I wasn't busy because waif boss wouldn't assign me any work and assigned it all to depressed coworker. WHATEVER!!! Unemployment is looking pretty sweet while I do my GRE prep. That said - FIVE YEARS Nights, weekends, early mornings, weird hours, weird projects, you name it. What fuckers. Boyfriend said I should head over to the Occupy camp downtown tomorrow. HA
Guest guest
((hugs!)) Well, on the bright side you won't have to deal with waify nutty boss anymore? And you get unemployment while you focus on your GRE? Still, being unemployed does suck no matter what plans you already had in place, so my cats are purring good thoughts your way. Guest guest
Well, although you weren't expecting that turn of events, getting laid off definitely solves the " crazy boss " issue. So if you're eligible for unemployment for a while, that's not such a bad deal. I'm betting you'll turn up another job before too long, to tide you over until grad school funding kicks in. Best of luck! -Annie > > So I went to an appt with my T, my car broke down on the way - that became > like a 3 hour ordeal. Guest guest
Thanks guys, I'm ok. I'm trying not to scapegoat waif boss individually - but really - I brought a lot more to that company than she did. Dysfunctional system, I say adieu. . Guest guest
Sorry to hear that Girlscout. That sucks. I'm glad to hear you've got other things going on (What are you going to grad school for? I'm just about to start my GRE prep and grad school search myself) and a supportive boyfriend. With skills like yours, you'll find something new to occupy your talents for sure. Lots of good thoughts heading your way > > > > > > So I went to an appt with my T, my car broke down on the way - that > > became > > > like a 3 hour ordeal. Guest guest
Hey sweets, thank you, so I am applying to MS programs in Family Therapy. And I want to continue onto my PhD. But finding out today that I have 26 weeks of unemployment - well - here are the ideas on the table: 1) Write a book with 26 chapters 2) Blog/social media (anonymous) called 26 weeks, day by day my quest for self actualization while on the dole 3) I want to get a bit more ripped and pick up a bunch of dance teaching gigs 4) Of course, job number one is grad school and owning that GRE 5) I also have been planning to start a free lance biz hoping to gradually leave my lame, unispiring job, but maybe I will But I really like the 26 weeks book/blog thing. I mean, i really really like it On Tue, Oct 25, 2011 at 8:53 PM, clefairy_looking_for_moonstone < clefairy_looking_for_moonstone@...> wrote: > ** > > > Sorry to hear that Girlscout. Guest guest
Holy Cow! You are always full of surprises! I'm sorry your income has changed, but think you were too good for the place anyway. Hope you enjoy your time off before you land on your feet--I know you will :-) > > So I went to an appt with my T, my car broke down on the way - that became > like a 3 hour ordeal. Guest guest
I'm new here, been lurking for a few days to get oriented to the discussion. I just wanted to say " hang in there! " regarding your new status. From your posts, it's clear you're grounded and ready for the next big adventure! Then I found myself thinking, " Oh no, what about waif boss? She must be spinning and creating some serious drama right about now! " Yes, I am a KO. > > > > So I went to an appt with my T, my car broke down on the way - that became > > like a 3 hour ordeal. Guest guest
Love you guys! Thanks for the support. There really is absolutely no reason why I haven't written a book yet - I always knew I would write one. . . that was what I wanted when i was a kid. why not now? 26 weeks, and 26 chapters. Guest guest
Eh waif boss - her drama is that she is acting like she's the victim, like its her loss. And she has also texted me a bunch today saying she missed me. We joked around that it was a stupid client's fault, and wished a bunch of imaginary ills on them. But, really, I think it is her fault. I know someone had to go but she could have stood up for me after five fucking years. She didn't. I'm sure she is crying to everyone about it nonstop. Meanwhile, I'm starting a whole new life. . . So I'm working on my blog/book, I didn't do much on the GRE today, but I'm going to work my ass off at simplifying our lives and our household. I think that (because I'm an awesome cook), if I join a food coop that offers low price produce, I can get our food bill way down. And then we are just going to cut back on a bunch of stuff. I;ve always been too busy to bargain shop and coupon clip and etc etc, but the fact is, I'm quite crafty with things like that because of my childhood spent raising nada. i'm gonna try to ride this out ha ha ha This is the first time in my LIFE I ever thought this way - I've always been such a giver. Right now I wanna take! I got on the dole already. The weird thing is, I have partnered with workforce services about 1,000 times as a professional and I have 2 good friends who work there. Now I'm on the other side, and I " m in really good company over here. I'll post my blog as soon as it is up. I would appreciate as many follows and shares and stuff as possible. Thanks guys, I'm kinda energized - maybe because I walked my dogs this afternoon and made a really nice and inexpensive meal for my fam.
