Guest guest
Has anybody taken their child to be evaluated at children's hospital of philadelphia? They have a whole team of specialist who evaluates the child. My question is for anyone who has been to that hospital. Do they do all the genetic testing and mitochondrial dysfunction testing also? Is it worth making the trip to that hospital or I should just get my son evaluated by a local neurologist in NJ? Thanks is

Guest guest
I belong to dozens of autism groups, and have for the past ten years. I have never heard of anyone having a good experience at CHOP. You can search archives on most all of these yahoogroups - but I am doubtful you will find any recommendations. Sorry! Guest guest
I am so confused now regarding CHOP. I've been looking for an allergist to treat my son's asthma and allergies and was recommended by two people who said there are two docs at CHOP who support IgG food testing and patch testing for foods. So I made an appt with one of them but now I'm wondering if this will be another waste of time. I am so done with going to doctors where I have to lie about my son being fully vaccinated. Guest guest
There is always the possibility of an open mind at CHOP, but it is kind of like looking for birth control advice at the Vatican. It would be rare to find someone willing to go against the company policy. But perhaps food allergy testing is not too far off the mainstream. Have you asked on any groups in Philly or nearby? Holly Bortfeld from TACA is close to there - she would probably know. Are you on the TACA group? Sylvia > > I am so confused now regarding CHOP. Guest guest
My friend is a ped nurse there and also has an ASD child. She did not vaccinate between year 2 and 5. She said they never gave hera hard time. She just told them she was waiting till after they had finished the mito testing.
