A new field guide is out, devoted to Psychological Emergencies for the

Prehospital care provider. It is a quick reference for disorders, drug abuse,

and other psychological emergencies or situations complicated by psychological

disorders. With the minimal basic knowledge that is in most EMS curriculums,

this could be a valuable quick reference.

Joe Woodall PhD., one of the co-authors, is a former paramedic and firefighter

in the Phoenix area, and was a professor of mine and department head in the

Grand Canyon University Public Safety Administration program. He is currently
