Guest guest
Had a very nice dinner yesterday. We went to a restaurant we haven't been to for quite a while, it's located in the cellar of a medieval house in Lund, Sweden (lokks like this from the outside: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2316/2502298544_cd86db5327.jpg?v=0 ). They serve a very nice Fondue Bourguignonne, with, I think it is 6 or 7 different homemade sauces on the side. The fondue is what we always come there for, this time was no exception. For starters we had honey gratinated goat cheese with figs (me), and escargots with garlic (). And, always when we eat there, for some reason, we ask to see the wine list, and then we order beer... There is absolutely nothing wrong with their wines, it's just that we find that beer goes better with the kind of food we eat there, and that's what we always have managed to remember just when the wine list arrives... This time too... asked about the beer glasses though, because she absolutely loves them, but they said they had barely enough glasses for their own needs, and they were not manufactured any longer, so they could neither sell her a glass or direct her to a manufacturer, alas... The coffee and cognac after dinner we decided to take at our "usual" place though, because by that time the restaurant was very crowded, and a medieval cellar has many things, including a little too good acoustic: the sound volume tends to get a little too high with too many people there. Before dinner we picked up a long neglected hobby and went to our favorite antiquarian bookstore, and as usual left with a bag of books... We talked all evening, and then finished the evening off with reading out loud to each other when we got back home. All in all, a very nice, refreshing and relaxing way to end what has been a crazy, crazy week... Jup, it's about that story I vented about here a week or so ago, about the lying pastor. Won't go into too much details but I have spent every day commenting on it, writing about it etc. Haven't got any "real" work done. Thursday evening I decided to take a break from it all, turn off the computer, and focus on making a nice dinner for me and , rather than just ordering something or make something "quick and pasta" or "pasta pronto". When I turned the computer back on after dinner I had, I think it was, 5 or 6 new messages from the same journalist. I had disagreed with him about a thing he wrote on this, and had wrote a piece on that, and, well, he was disagreeing right back... I had already been direct messaging back and forth with him all afternoon and kind of felt we had discussed the matter as thoroughly as could be done. Crazy. By yesterday I was staring to feel a bit weary about the whole thing, to say the least. But last evening, with the dinner et al, did wonders to refresh me. I feel like I am an all new person... Really, I do. Ready to take on both that and, hopefully, a little real work too, come Monday. I haven't got back to that journalist again, like I promised I would yesterday, But, hey, I never said *when*... I will though. And I am glad I did write what i did last week. It needed doing. love/Reb
