Fasting (low calorie diet) is knownto be associated with longevity as proven in animal studies across species. Guest guest
People weren"t fasting then gobbling up acetaminophen. It would be my guess that they weren't fasting because they were feverish and feeling yucky from vaccs (and just not feeling hungry). I know nothing about Indian culture, but my guess would be people generally wouldn't start a fast while they were sick. Guest guest
I got your point Tammy. Thanks.People here in India fast for many reasons including religious--irrespective of whether they are ill or not. Also I am not happy with the other argument that ketones obstruct detox. In the ketogenic diet we have to take high amount of MCT, moderate protein and low carb. Our brain can utilize MCT as alternate fuel than glucose. This is important for those who have type3 diabetes where only the brain cells become glucose intolerant or insulin resistant. -----------Ratan Singh, Phone: 91 141 2652561, mail: ratanpsych@...- Certificate in Food & Nutrition; Diploma in Nutrition and Health Education; Life Member, Nutrition Soc. of India; Member ISOM- Author of "Nutrition & Supplements in Major Mental Illnesses";- M.A. (Psychol), Postgraduate Diploma in Medical & Social Psychology, Ph.D.;- Certified Behavior Therapist (from late Prof. J. Guest guest
yes ratan....i agree with you ...i think ketones are caused from low carb diets because people are eating so much more meat.... meat is acidic...we all need some acidic foods....but when your body is in acess....then you produce ketones....also fasting on nothing but water in a very toxic person could bring about to much toxins at once... i know mainstream medicine does not approve of fasting for health....but modified juice fasting i think is a great healing tool....but most mainstream docs would disagree venemously with me.... channa To: mb12valtrex Sent: Thursday, January 12, 2012 10:23 AMSubject: RE: Re: Dr. Shaw's webinar last night---ketones and fasting and detox But how do you explain this: Fasting has been the tradition over centuries in India as a method to detox? Guest guest
Your are right Channa. So, we should follow the rule to restrict protein to 20 to 30 gm (about a fist-full) each meal. No more. But high MCT is ok.Ratan.------------Ratan Singh, Phone: 91 141 2652561, mail: ratanpsych@...- Certificate in Food & Nutrition; Diploma in Nutrition and Health Education; Life Member, Nutrition Soc. of India; Member ISOM- Author of "Nutrition & Supplements in Major Mental Illnesses";- M.A. (Psychol), Postgraduate Diploma in Medical & Social Psychology, Ph.D.;- Certified Behavior Therapist (from late Prof. J.
