Guest guest
God Forbid I ever make a mistake in judgement. Whoops to late? What purpose does it serve to keep batting this subject around. If you work in this business long enough you will make a mistake. Hindsight is always the best sight. I for one have heard enough. Guest guest
Indeed. The guy made a mistake. Doesn't make him a monster, or even a bad medic, just that he made a bad mistake on *this* patient. If there is one immutable law of EMS, it's that everyone is an expert about someone else's patient. Guest guest
Henry your are right. The most appropriate direction here should be not to pass blame, armchair Quarterback or delve out punishment but for us all to look at how we train so we don't have to read about it happening again to anyone. This guy will have this permanently etched in his mind for ever; As peers and even educators we should most concerned with keeping it from ever occuring again.. Henry Barber Henry: I am sorry if I seem to have been beating a dead horse. I was trying to weigh in on the side of making suggestions to all as to the lessons needing to be learned from the situation in SATX. For what ever reason, including poor adherence to industry best practices/standard operating guidelines, avoidable mistakes were made. There is a reason why pilots use check lists and why there are checklists in the NIMS/HICS emergency response packets. And I firmly believe that the medics in SATX were not given the benefit of due process in the administration response to the incident. ck S.
