Guest guest
While $175/hr is not a bad rate, do you get everything you need from a medical director in only 12 hours per month? Does this include on-call time? Can your medics call your medical director at home and discuss a case with him/her? Does it include scene time? Does your medical director show up at scenes? Does it include face time? Randy R. Guest guest
He actually stays pretty active with us (we are a flight service). He never responds to scenes (no need for explaination) We can call him anytime we need him, which is very nice. He PI's all of our charts and comes to all of our meetings. Actually does well compared to some that I have worked with! I do know a few that will director for free!! VERY RARE! --- " Loflin, Randall " wrote: > While $175/hr is not a bad rate, do you get > everything you need from a medical director in only > 12 hours per month? Guest guest
It goes back to the days of the Druids and other Pagans of the pre-crusade era. On the morning of the Winter or Summer Solstices they would go to places of worship such as Stonehenge and other Druid holy spots. The younger people, usually feeling the effects of too much wine the night before, would be late to the festival and would try to quietly sneak in without bringing the wrath of the Druid priests and Pagan Gods. These people were called " squeakers " . If they were a young male and awoke suddenly and ran to the meeting, they often brought with them their morning wood and were colloquially referred to as " squeakerwoods.' Guest guest
There are doctors who will provide medical direction for free, and that brings up (again) the discussion of what EMS is. While there are dedicated and effective volunteer EMS personnel and organizations, EMS must take its place in the 21st century as an essential service. In my view, EMS needs to be on an equal footing with Police/Fire, and, in order to do that, the majority of individuals and organizations providing EMS must do so as a profession. If someone provides a service, they deserve to be compensated for it, in order to support them, their family and their community. R.
