Guest guest
Whether or not someone has PD is down to an opinion. Ten psychiatrists will give a different opinion. And unless they have spent a lot of time with the person they will probably just guess and get it wrong. I am sure my father has PD and my mother but other people who know them and see them at their best cannot see what I see and they have never had medical attention or treatment. Guest guest
I agree: abusive behavior is abusive behavior no matter if its got a diagnostic label or not. Keep in mind that those with personality disorder traits (and psychopaths) are very, very good at manipulating other people, including their therapists, and good at positioning themselves as a charming, appealing, pitiful victim. And you're right, even the experts can be fooled. Dr. Hare, a leading researcher and expert on psychopathy, who developed the " Hare Psychopathy Checklist " which is now considered to the be " gold standard " for diagnosing psychopathy in forensic populations, has said that HE has been fooled by psychopaths, more than once. -Annie > > > ** > > > > > > Whether or not someone has PD is down to an opinion.
