Guest guest
My son has been on Valtrex fo 10 days...oh my god...is symptoms have tripled in worseness...of friend of mine said this is a good sign because of the " die off " ....she said if I saw nothing...good or bad...then I wasn't doing something effective. I would love to know how long it took your child to start seeing reuslts? How long was the die off? My doctor called in diflucan to start this week...is that good? To do an anti-viral and anti-fungal at the same time? Exhausted, tired, worried, and looking for answers. We also an allergist on Friday...my son is allergic to of course everything...they want to start allergy shots...anyone out there have receovery from allergy shots? they say many of his symptoms could be due to allergies and a system going hawwire.? Guest guest
Your son should not be on valtrex without being on a stong antifungal like diflucan. The die off could be due to yeast. Start him on the antifungal right away and it shold start working in a few days. Guest guest
IMO Diflucan or similar string antifungal should be in place as well as diet modifications low carb and low sugar before beginning Valtrex, then work up the Vlatrex dose to get to the full dose . > > My son has been on Valtrex fo 10 days...oh my god...is symptoms have tripled in worseness...of friend of mine said this is a good sign because of the " die off " ...she said if I saw nothing...good or bad...then I wasn't doing something effective. > > I would love to know how long it took your child to start seeing reuslts? > How long was the die off? > My doctor called in diflucan to start this week...is that good? Guest guest
I know results vary..but in general how long did it take for you to see positive results? did you do anything else besides anti-viral and anti-fungal? > > > > My son has been on Valtrex fo 10 days...oh my god...is symptoms have tripled in worseness...of friend of mine said this is a good sign because of the " die off " ...she said if I saw nothing...good or bad...then I wasn't doing something effective. > > > > I would love to know how long it took your child to start seeing reuslts? > > How long was the die off? > > My doctor called in diflucan to start this week...is that good? Guest guest
Die off lasted about 14 days at our house. We occasionally used activated charcoal (given at least 2 hours away from any meds) to absorb some of the toxins that are created at least in the gut.... this really helped. Also, our dr recomended advil to help get through the die off period. Did they run titers to be able to track improvment. After die off we didn't see drastic results but rather steady improvment which continued as we put more immune support in (immunovir, LDN, anti fungals, erythromyacin, pro biotic, pharmacuetical grade omegas). I'd say our son is about 90% recovered (neurotypical class, no aide, doing well, some social differences... and at 3 years old he just learned to say yes or no...he also had an additional regression at 4yo after an illness (immune connection)... so he's come a long way. Allergies are very common in autism (immune connection) we use allergra and nasalcort. Food and environmental allergies definately cause and or exacerbate many "behavioral" issues. Read Dr. Goldbergs book "the myth of autism, how a misunderstood diagnosis is destroying our children" for some good info. Also, chekck out SCIA yahoo group (Stop Calling It Autism). good luck
