If you are interested in being considered for a full time Paramedic or EMT position please contact me as soon as possible to reserve your spot. MedStar EMS offers an excellent benefit package which includes: a 401a retirement package, medical, dental, and vision benefits through United Health Care, flex spending accounts for both medical expenses and day care expenses, short term disability, long term disability, and an optional supplemental life insurance as well as an employer paid life insurance plan. Overtime shifts provide up to a $250 bonus per 12 - 16 hour shift with weekend shift differentials. MedStar EMS employees receive an annual bonus of up to 5% of their annual salary at the end of the year as well as their annual merit increases. MedStar EMS has its own Istudy smart program which provides a college education at a large discounted rate to employees and two family members; MedStar EMS also provides tuition reimbursement for related courses. MedStar EMS has its own Morale, Welfare, and Recreation program that was implemented by the employees and has recently leased its own lake house in Marble Falls that sleeps up to 20 people, and is a free vacation home to employees all year round. MedStar EMS has its own softball team, soccer team, mounted team, bike team, and has begun implementation of their honor guard program. MedStar EMS provides its own in house Paramedic program; MedStar EMTs are given the opportunity to attend class Monday thru Friday, 0800 - 1700; affiliated through TCC, MedStar EMS conducts the approximate two year course in an eight month time frame with the employees salary paid, as well as their books, and tuition paid for by the employer. MedStar EMS has also begun development of their own in house EMT program that will be open to the general public. Individuals will be selected through an application screening process and will attend the EMT program through MedStar then will be given the opportunity to attend the Paramedic program in the future. The MedStar EMS Clinical Department has also begun working on the development of a Paramedic to RN program with a local Emergency Department. We are looking forward to hearing from you.
