Guest guest
My son is receiving vancomycin and was also on nystatin but there are no more refills and our dan's appointment is next week. I ordered it myself but now the insurance doesn't cover nystatin. I feel like it wasn't doing much to yeast anyways and would hate to pay for it. Will hopefully start fluconazole next week after speaking with dan. In the mean time, my son is continuing to receive vancomycin. I have a feeling that yeast is flaring again. He is receiving 500 mg of curcumin. My question is that would candidase be able to work alone if I add without any other antifungal on board? Just want to cover yeast for this week. Thanks
Guest guest
Candidase helped our yeast situation but I would think vanc is too strong for it and nystatin....not sure what to tell you on this one...unless he can't tolerate candidase it wouldn't hurt to put him on it and try I would think...we love it and we're using it with nystatin but no antibiotic...can you call the dr.'s office and ask about starting on flucanazole before appt?-- Sent from my Palm Pre My son is receiving vancomycin and was also on nystatin but there are no more refills and our dan's appointment is next week. Guest guest
Unfortunately our dan has established a new office and so far I found the staff is not cooperative at all. I will talk to him in 6 days and want to cover for these six days. I will continue the candidase and curcumin and hope for the yeast to behave. is > > > & nbsp; > > > > > > > > > > > My son is receiving vancomycin and was also on nystatin but there are no more refills and our dan's appointment is next week. Guest guest
I read you are using Culterelle, but are you using other, higher count probiotics, too? I would, and just asking because Vancomycin is strong, and will wipe out ALL the bacteria in the gut. > > > > > > & nbsp; > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > My son is receiving vancomycin and was also on nystatin but there are no more refills and our dan's appointment is next week. Guest guest
Hi is,I'm not sarah but i have mixed probiotics before and have heard of others doing the same in other groups....My current DANs are ok with this....would like to hear if anyone else thinks this is a problem....as far as other probiotic names (besides 3lac and vsl#3), we have had good luck with Klaire Labs. We use one with strep so i think you said you want to avoid that strain but maybe they have other combos without the strep??.....we had alot of good luck with increasing probiotics while on the big antibs (i could immediately tell the difference in behavior)....good luck! Guest guest
Thanks ! I recently read that Dr Woeller also believes that the immune system may not recognize strep thermophilus as a beneficial bacteria and can form antibodies against it and induce PANDAS like illness. I have a whole box of vsl#3 sitting in my refrigerator but I am too afraid to try as finally after 6 weeks of vancomycin, finally my son's ocd has improved significantly. Threelac has dairy and my son has folate autoantibodies. Custom probiotic is the only option left so I will definitely start that. Just confused about which one to get from that line. I already tried klaire labs therbiotic complete with no benefit and increase in ocd. Today I increased the dose of curcumin and restarted candidase at half a capsule. Will see if I can get a hold of his dan tomorrow and get fluconazole on board. is > > > > > > > > > > > > & nbsp; > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > My son is receiving vancomycin and was also on nystatin but there are no more refills and our dan's appointment is next week. Guest guest
Thanks for the new insight....i have been thinking about changing VSL#3 but am concerned about oxolates and clostridia....but i didnt see a change in my son's OCD behavior (it's always been there).....still it is a concern so will have to think about a change in the future. How did you find out about the folate autoantibodies? To: mb12valtrex Sent: Wednesday, January 25, 2012 10:47 PM Subject: Re: candidase alone for yeast Thanks ! Guest guest
is- Klaire has a version of Therbiotic that is strep free called Detox Support and Custom Probiotics also has strep free version if you look on their website it is listed the one recommended for Autism. It only has 4 strains of Acidophilus and lactobacillus but we used it for a long time with great results. We rotate CP,Klaire and Mind Linx which is also strep free.I personally take VSL and it has helped me tremendously.HTH,Melinda To: "mb12valtrex " <mb12valtrex > Sent: Wednesday, January 25, 2012 10:16 PMSubject: Re: Re: candidase alone for yeast they can make any blend you want they have a blend that is specailly for kids on spectrum i would call them ask about it...custom probiotic that is....also wanted to point out im using syntol probiotics and so far my son seems to be reacting well with it....no strep strains and spose help fight yeast To: mb12valtrex Sent: Wednesday, January 25, 2012 10:47 PMSubject: Re: candidase alone for yeast Thanks ! Guest guest
I would say yes! That is what I do, my dd is on antibiotics for Lyme right now- I really like Custom probiotics 11 strain or 6 strain, Culterelle, Theralac- Kirkman without the strep strain- but Custom is high quality, high count- so a bang for your buck. I am giving a very high count every day----important, but REALLY important when we are using strong antibiotics. > > > > > > > > > > > > & nbsp; > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > My son is receiving vancomycin and was also on nystatin but there are no more refills and our dan's appointment is next week.
