Guest guest
How cool is that, Reb! I hadn't heard about this, so youeducated me today...How are you and doing? What's going on with her job?Love,KateTo: MSersLife Sent: Mon, November 8, 2010 1:55:34 AMSubject: Re: Wind Power could power the east coast I think it's fascinating with all the new ideas concerning power that is popping up right now. I read yesterday about a try out in Netherlands (I think it was) where they had used solar panels to make window blinds. Such a brilliant and creative idea. I mean, when will you close the blinds? When it's very sunny! True double function in one item. You just keep using the blinds as usual, but they'll give power. Of course, I don't think you could power a whole house with just window blinds, at least not with today's technology, but every source of power is a source of power. love/Reb>> We have a lot of the huge wind turbines about 30 miles from us and they want to > build more. Guest guest
back in the 80's when passive solar came out - also the clunky active solar arrays they had actually it was luwan (?) with foam on it and then the soft foam and the material - in essense you upholstered the board and each one fit into the inside of your window with what they are doing with the thin solar panels - anything is possible I saw one on a garage venting the attic space - the arrays that they have now are think like your finger - there is a conference held once a year - saw it one year in DC - the big colleges build a small house with all the techy stuff - tore it down - packed it in trucks and went to DC - it was all passive solar and solar -University of Missouri was in the top 3 - that is why I remember it Check out "This Old House" on the web - it is a PBS program out of Boston Norm Abrams the carpenter doesn't do New Yankee Workshop anymore so I have to watch NCIS to get my carpentry fix God, grant me the strength of eagles wings, the faith and courage to fly to new heights, and the wisdom to rely on his spirit to carry me there.
