We have a small power system here at my house with a few solar panels and the wind generator. It gives us power most of the time. When we run out of power we use kerosene lamps and wait for the sun:) There are many people near me who are also off-grid. There are a few people I know of who have really large solar power systems that even run the washer and dryer, powers a microwave and runs TVs and computers all day. With our small system we only run the TV when the generator is on to pump water or run the washing machine. I love the idea of solar window blinds! There are so many innovators out there doing some wonderful things. It's very encouraging. SharonThis email is a natural hand made product. I think it's fascinating with all the new ideas concerning power that is popping up right now. I read yesterday about a try out in Netherlands (I think it was) where they had used solar panels to make window blinds. Such a brilliant and creative idea. I mean, when will you close the blinds? When it's very sunny! True double function in one item. You just keep using the blinds as usual, but they'll give power. Of course, I don't think you could power a whole house with just window blinds, at least not with today's technology, but every source of power is a source of power. love/Reb>> We have a lot of the huge wind turbines about 30 miles from us and they want to > build more. blinds come inside windows and doors - the honeycomb blinds also insulate God, grant me the strength of eagles wings, the faith and courage to fly to new heights, and the wisdom to rely on his spirit to carry me there.
