I have lived in or near Berkeley for 51 years of my life, and the only"hippies" I ever saw were on a commune way up north in Mendocino.I also never saw a "riot" in Berkeley, only peaceful peace marches.On the other hand, it IS the home of the FIRST University campus ofthe University of California (many campuses), and the oldest, and of the first houses ever built for vacationing San Franciscans at the turnof the century (yet!).I cannot wait to roll out with my royal blue vehicle!Love to you, Cait, and to all of you,nTo: MSersLife Sent: Tue, November 9, 2010 6:30:30 PMSubject: Yay n

Cait, this is about the current tuition hike protests; a "riot"here consists of hundreds of people either sitting in treesor talking incessantly. The one exception in the 1960s wasthe People's Park mess, in which the local constabulary provided the violence.
