Guest guest
Hello again, Wow, we just totalled all of 2011's ABA Therapies bills, Hospital Bills, and Biomedical therapies and it all came out to close to a WOPPING 10,000. for our 4 year old. Does anyone know if we could claim these therapies on our taxes. Don't they fall under medical or behavorial mental health expenses. Thanks everyone,Irma

Guest guest
I can answer this one! You can not write off your medical expenses unless they total 10% of your household income. Last year we were at $35, 000 and were able to use the deduction. This year we fell short spending "only" ha! ha! $15,000. Example: Household income: $100,000.00...Medical expenses $15,000.00...You can write off $5,000.00. Guest guest
Get a " letter of medical necessity " from your child's Dr so it's documented to be medically necessary. Save all receipts - document all travel, .... How much you can actually deduct depends on your income.
