Guest guest
Thanks for this group @};-. You all have more knowledge than the doctors and I have learned so much from your emails. I received a St. Jude duel chamber pm in 2003 (put in for slow beat) I immediately started AFIB. Went on Sotalol and Amiordarone. Two years later, I gradually took myself off Amiordarone because it makes me tired, dizzy, and winded. I wasn't fibrillating so I thought. Why not?? Big mistake in a couple of months my heart was all over the place. Dr. G. informed me that once a heart fibrillates it can always happen again. She doubled my Sotalol 160-200mg and I got along quite well for awhile. I had a few episodes so they put me on Coumadin. Well I never did get up to a 2-3 and was bruised with hematomas on arms and legs. I stayed off greens. If I go on it again I will stay on the leafy green and they can just give me more Coumadin. Next they tried Mexitilene, not as many side effects as Amiodarone. It gives dreadful heart burn and ruins you golf swing. Last week I was put back on Amiodarone 200 mg because they saw ventricular runs on my halter monitor plus many extra beats but not exactly fibrillation. Today the doctor said I am in rhythm and they have doubled my Micardis for BP and Sotalol is back to 40mg twice a day. To counter the side effects of Amiodarone they have found that patients can take it Monday through Friday and go off on the weekend. Has any one else heard of that? Thanks for info about Sunscreen 50 for two hours because I am not giving up golf. Sun Precautions have a great line of clothes for all sun sensitive people. Life sure has some interesting turns. I wish you all well and thanks for the info. evelyn
Guest guest
You know, , some things are simply not to be endured. I can handle the heartburn but a pill that ruins your golf swing is unacceptable!! Lil In a message dated 4/10/2006 7:49:02 P.M.
