VERY concered: First my story or history.

I have Schlerderma of the esphogus and years back, I went for a 4 hour test.

I had to eat an egg sald sandwich with radiation in it.

This made it so they could follow my sandwich going dow, sadly after those 4

hours, the nurse told me that there was signs of my sandwich was still in

the bottom part of my esphagus?? Confirmed by other tests>>

Afer it does leave there only to go into a gastroparesis stomach??

So my question to you all, how would this affect my 2 hour bg testing???

I am going to my Gastrologist on June 4th, loaded with question.

For the motility problem as I have said before, I take MOTLIUM for that,

works off and on??/

With gratitude,

If 4 hours after eating something it hasn't all gotten to your stomach to be

digested, this would drastically impact your 2 hour test.

You are going to have to talk to your doctors to see what you should be

concerned with. While it takes drastically longer for the food to get to

your system, you are also digesting significantly smaller portions of food

over the 4-6 hours.

Not knowing the specifics of your condition or your plan of treatment (and

not being medical experts in these fields), with something as unique as

this, you need to consult your professional team.

MIKE, for weeks I hesitated asking this question, because I knew what I have

isn't so common. hehe

But, I figured it would not allow me the same avenue of checking.

Let you all know what my dr says next week, I am very upset over this, I

have been eating like my condition allows me, then I get hit with this??/

THANKS

Thanks! I'm in Iowa.

Sorry to hear about the Barrett's too... hopefully you will get your

questions all answered at your doctors visit.

I frequently make lists of questions before an appointment so I get

everything covered. Sometimes it's easy to forget everything you want to

ask.

Sometimes doctors are rushed, but I've found (100% of the time), if I have a

list of questions and am organized they are always willing to address

everything I have questions about. It's when I'm disorganized and play the

'oh, what about this' every time they start to head towards the door that I

don't get the answers I want.

Type up your list of questions and take a pen with you to write down the

answers.

Also, if you track your bloodsugars, copy your log (or if you record them on

your computer, print off a list) for your doctor. I am on several

medications, and I have them all recorded on my computer too, so I print off

the list with the name, strength and dosage. I hand that list to them as

well. The nurse has told me that I am the most organized patient they have

and they really appreciate getting these things printed out. (Much better

than verbally going over a list of drugs and saying.. 'it's that one that

starts with a t they said was for my heart') ;-)

I read on this site that some do have one of my problems, that is

gastroparesis??

Do you still check 2 hurs after you eat, did it ever occur that the food may

not be in your bloodstream yet?? Digesting then becomes an issue, doesn't

it???
