Guest guest
Sharon, I hope either the dog finds h is owners again, or another loving home takes him in. You did the right thing. If we had 6 dogs, my hubby would kill me if I got another. 2 is enough as it is!! Unfortunately we find this too, others dump them off since we are in the country. We often have strays, but they never stick around for me to call anyone. However, the last stray I kept because she stuck around and that was my dear old Maggie who gave me 4 amazingly wonderful years with her, despite the fact that when she found us, she was partially blind, deaf and OLD. Best dog ever!! She was a Border Collie and eventually one day, i will have another one jen h we had a dog visitor today I don't know if he was lost or dumped but we had a dog visitor today. He is a pit bull mix but seemed to be nice. He didn't chance the barn cats or try to get to the chickens/turkeys or ducks. My 6 dogs were very freaked out over their company. He found a water bottle and tried to chew into it. So I broke down and told the kids to give him some food and water. He went nuts for both. We can't have another dog here, especially a male so I had to call animal control. Our animal control takes the animals to the local humane society which is a no kill shelter. I have had to call animal control to pick up three dogs in the past year. We live out in the country and so many people will dump animals out here thinking they will get a good home. Unfortunately we just can't keep them all. This dog was happy to see the animal control officer and wagged his tale non stop. He is so social and will probably get a home quickly. hugs SharonThis email is a natural hand made product. Guest guest
Glad he went to a no kill shelter. We have feral cats in the neighborhood, and my neighbor in back of me takes care of them and tries to socialize them. Hugs and Love, Jackie May the peace of God be with you...the love of Jesus enfold you...and the Spirit of Christ fill you. Guest guest
The stray before this one was the most beautiful small (young?) husky. She was so timid. But not timid with our chickens and ducks. After she grabbed a duck in her mouth I had to call animal control. I felt so bad for that dog when she left here. But we have to take care of our poultry. The stray before that one is still here. He was just a tiny puppy and was clearly dumped. My granddaughter had been up at the top of our property and saw a truck pull up just down the road, they opened the door and then went speeding off. Within a few minutes this little puppy came running up to our house. We estimate he was only 4 weeks old! If he hadn't come here the coyotes would have gotten him by that night. That was over a year ago. He is a little short dog but holds his own with the big dogs. His name is Shiloh. The youngest granddaughter here had just heard the book "Shiloh" and that's how he got his name. He's very much loved around here! SharonThis email is a natural hand made product.
