Guest guest
Sounds great! I am hoping for a much better day but not happening yet. Check out my E-bay auctions by Michi310 Re: Checking in ...I'm going to email you later today (during rest time) and tell you what happened to me yesterday. The daycare thing here at my house is in for a much needed change and I am so ready to do it!!! Parents, kids...it's time for me to part ways with some of them. Hugs, Donna H. ps..I hope you have a good day today (I know I am...made up my mind to it this morning and right off the bat (6am no less), one family arrived and started in with the bad behavior (BAD BAD BAD). I put a HALT to it quickly and with an attitude to boot...LOL! At this moment, they are playing quietly with the lego's. And I'm smiling...LOL! > Hi everyone! I have missed soooo much this week (I have even had to delete messages some days so if I missed anything important, I am sorry) Welcome to all newbies and congratulations on some great TRs. I have been having a really rough few weeks with the daycare kids.. getting close to burnout or breakdown. Thank goodness they go back to school on Aug 25th. My oldest dd(12) who is my big helper here, has been gone for almost a week so I have been doing almost double duty. I will try and keep up a little more(hopefully) so I won't feel so much like a stranger. I missed you guys! > > Check out my E-bay auctions > by Michi310 > >
Guest guest
Thank you, ! I really needed the pep talk. Today is getting better. I have a 9 year old daycare boy that is just tearing my heart out. He is turning out to be a great kid when he is here but his mother is pretty much useless and he acts out a lot. They have recently threatened him with boot camp or fostercare if he doesn't shape up. He has been VERY helpful around here and I think he just needs the normal family life and routine. If they did plan on putting him in fostercare, I think that I would seriously consider taking him even though we don't have our foster license anymore. I am just afraid that if his mom doesn't get her head out of her butt, he is going to be in the legal system before he turns 16. Thanks for letting me vent.. just a lot on my heart and head these days. Check out my E-bay auctions by Michi310 Re: Checking in ---Hey , you've been missed too!! Be careful and take care of yourself first cause you're too important to burn out!!! You have lot's who need and depend on you, but you need to be healthy, physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually!! You're a super mom, daycare provider, wife and friend!! Hope today is a blessing to you as you are to so many others. hugs~~kelly In TubalLigationReversal , " Niemi " <michellen@c...> wrote: > Hi everyone! Guest guest
---I'd suggest staying involved in his life as much as you can so if the opportunity arises you're there. My friend who's 9yr. was killed, kept herself involved in a boy, , life. Because of her, he finished hs, and is doing great. each time he about lost it he'd touch base with her and she'd real him back in. He's 20 and a great kid, it just took someone outside the family to care enough to love and confront as needed. glad your day is better, you deserve it!! hugs~~kelly In TubalLigationReversal , " Niemi " <michellen@c...> wrote: > Thank you, ! Guest guest
I got some disturbing news from the Arc of Washington State. Because the income tax initiative did not pass, our governor is proposing some pretty steep budget cuts. Many of them do not need legislature approval, so will go into effect January 1, 2011. Some have already gone into effect, and others which will require legislature approval, will go into effect as early as March 1, 2011. I have to say, Washington state is the first state where I have lived that does not have a state income tax. In Ohio, where I'm from, we had to file, federal, state, and city tax returns. But, most people got full refunds on their state and city taxes. I always did. The recent initiative that was on the ballot to repeal the food and beverage tax passed almost 2 to 1. So, the state no longer has that tax. I often wonder why it is, when the state is experiencing financial woes, that the first to get cuts, is the ones that should be way down on the list for cuts. I think that all politicians from the state level on up, should spend 6 months at least, on some kind of low income assistance program. Like, my son, whose SSI is less than $700/month. These politicians should also have insurance no better than Medicaid. They really need to experience it first hand to understand what it's like. Then maybe they will all go out and have bake sales and car washes because cutting social service programs just aren't the best way to save the budget. Of course, even if my Senators and Representative were to cut their income in half, they would still have a higher income than my family's combined income. Take a look at some of these cuts: Dental Services – All adult dental services except emergency services are eliminated. Adults will be able to go to a dentist or the emergency room for pain medication only, dental services will not provided. Effective Jan 1, 2011. Medicaid prescription drugs – Funding is eliminated for all outpatient pharmacy prescription drugs for adults. Only medications administered in a physician’s office or outpatient hospital settings will be covered. This takes effect March 1, 2011. Vision, hearing & podiatry, physical, occupational & speech therapy services are all eliminated for adults. Effective Jan 1, 2011. I have Medicare and my Medicaid is a Medicare only Medicaid, so it already doesn't cover dental services. Nick and Marcus both have Medicaid. Marcus just turned 17, so these cuts probably won't affect him yet. On a happier note, I did complete 2 more baskets. I have the photos attached. The first one looks like it was made from a gourd; but, it's not. The second one is the first covered basket that I have made which has a lid with a pine cone handle.
