Guest guest
Judith's recent post about feeling like throwing tantrums sometimes really reminded me what it was like when I was first diagnosed and I felt like the entire world was full of stuff that was now forbidden to me. This is absolutely true (keep in mind I WAS pregnant at the time, but still...) I actually broke down and started crying in the middle of Fred Meyer because I couldn't have orange creamsicle flavored milk. ORANGE CREAMSICLE FLAVORED MILK! That stuff is disgusting even if you are not diabetic! But I looked at it and thought, " Hm, that might be interesting to try sometime " and then remembered oh wait, I can't have stuff like that, and just totally lost it, right there in the middle of the grocery store. My point is, if you feel a little emotionally overwhelmed with all of this stuff, you are not alone. :-) And it does get easier. I have to admit that the reshaping of my body (I lost 45 pounds) is a great consolation prize for not being able to eat... orange creamsicle flavored milk. :-) Molly
