Guest guest
We were using Kirkmans but recently switched to the Vitacost brand. Less than half the price and we saw no difference in my son when we changed brands. Macy Which brand do you use? Thanks.
Guest guest
Mine can’t take GABA at all! He does well on small doses of carnitine. His routine looks like this” 250mg valtrex - 2 x dailyAnafranil 10mg (for tics/movement/ssri) - 1xdailyLamictal 10mg (greatly helped with aggression!!) - 2xdailyFolate – once dailyCarnitine (prescription 150mg) once dailyB complex – every other dayAmoxicillin (Bartonella) – 7.5 ml tidAzithromycin (provolactic) 250mg – every third dayAdderall XR 5mg – 5 days a week We are doing extremely well with this combination! Very low doses are the key for our guy. Keeping our fingers crossed for when he starts school. Every child is so different and they all have different needs. From: mb12valtrex [mailto:mb12valtrex ] On Behalf Of wbrecovery@...Sent: August-16-11 10:59 PMTo: mb12valtrex Subject: Re: Inositol for OCD?? With GABA, my son got borderline psychotic. It's strange how they all react differently to stuff Macy Right now we are using something called GABA plus which is twinlab brand and it is like 100 mg GABA per cap combined with 600 mg Inositol per cap. Guest guest
Oh you wouldnt want to add GABA into anti-seizure meds anyway... that would make things unpredictable I suppose. I am glad you found a good cocktail. ;-) Mine can’t take GABA at all! He does well on small doses of carnitine. Guest guest
I didn’t get to this overnight. Our family dr was always supportive and I felt free to call him on every change/addition. This was also overseen by a neurologist who, although didn’t give any answers or hope, did look over changes regarding meds. I felt like I needed to use all the resources available in order to help our little guy. After getting kicked out of one developmental peds office for asking too many questions, I have tried to take a more diplomatic approach in order to keep doors open...lessons learned... Guest guest
Thanks. I thought I remembered people saying kirkman worked when others didn't. We had tried a brand and I think it ws designs for health and it was horrible for us. Re: Inositol for OCD?? We were using Kirkmans but recently switched to the Vitacost brand.
