Hi everyone,Has anyone had experience with the above antib? I dont want to use it unless absolutely necessary. We saw the dr today for my 2 year old's cough/flu/bronchitis(possible pneumonia). The dr. wants me to start her on the above if she still has a fever on sunday....i think her fever started on tues but could've been earlier (she started with croup on Sunday and it has become a nasty cough).....she is pretty fussy at times but still plays alot especially in the am when not tired. I am very wary of the antibs because she has leaky gut and the last antib messed it up (macrodantin for a suspected Uti)....any experience with azithromycin would be helpful....many thanks,

We used it to get rid of steep and myco p. it didn't really work for us, but it does for many. We supported gut & it wasn't too bad with antifungal & probiotic aboard. Sent from my iPhone

Hi -

Azithromycin is the one abx RX that we have used with no negative effects for

both my kids (leaky guts, dysbiosis, etc.) and myself at times. We stay away

from abx as much as we possibly can, but if it becomes necessary, this one has

worked well for us without negative effects. In fact, back before we pursued

alternatives to allopathic medicine, for my oldest (with autism), who had what

we later found to be major gut dysbiosis and encopresis, zithromax took his

chronic diarrhea and turned it into formed stools within a few days. I'm sure

it was some bacteria that mainstream med won't test for that the zithromax wiped

out at least temporariy. My son had a sinus infection that just would not go

away, so that was the reason for the abx then, but the side effect was awesome!

Most other abx my kids have been on in the past have almost always given them

diarrhea. This one did just the opposite.

Hope this helps! And I hope your little one gets better very soon so no abx

even have to enter the picture for her!

Thank you! This makes me feel much better if we do have to go that route! To: mb12valtrex Sent: Friday, January 27, 2012 10:22 PM Subject: Re: azithromycin for 2 year old with flu/bronchitis (pneumonia fear)

My daughter has been on a ton of different antibiotics due to having been born

with a urinary tract abnormality. Two of the antibiotics gave her all-body

rashes; azithromycin and nitrofurantoin. But it may be genetic; my husband has

always said that he is allergic to anything ending with -mycin.
