I do hope you find more supportive friends like Mel and you and Robbin settle into a good, healthy life. As for Rob, well you know what I ended up doing ... kicking his sorry ass out the door and changing the locks. Please please don't let him fool you again. And don't shield or make excuses for his rotten behavior to Robbin. Look at how it backfired on me ... making excuses, covering his messes, etc. for the girls' sakes. I really think a lot of that might have been because I grew up without a father. She dislikes me because I am educated and usually know the answer to a question, which instead of making me "smart" makes me a "smart ass". She is not very educated and the fact that I am threatens her. Sad.
