Guest guest
Hello All, I saw this female author being interviewed on The Daily Show today, Merill Markoe. During the interview, she and were discussing stories about her parents that she includes in her latest book, Cool Calm and Contentious. Hearing the stories, I could tell her parents had some kind of PD because I could relate to so much of what she said. So I checked out her website, and there's a long excerpt from her book about her NPD parents! It is so funny, and insightful, and a great little read. I thought yall would enjoy to read it as well. Here is the link: http://merrillmarkoe.com/enough-about-you-my-explanation-of-narcissism My nada is more BPD and my fada more NPD, but so many of those traits are intertwined. I often feel like I could write a book about the absurdity and abuse and chaos that was my childhood and adolescence of two PD parents, as I know we all could! In the meantime, I definitely plan to buy this book. How nice it is to have insight and awareness about my FOO and how it's shaped so much of my reality today, and then, get this reminder that we can always find some humor in something, even in the darkest place. ( " Against the assault of laughter, nothing can stand. " Mark Twain) Hope you enjoy! -T
