Guest guest
This is such good news, Sharon, and Happy Birthday to Challis!Love to you all,nTo: Group <mserslife >Sent: Tue, November 16, 2010 8:12:11 AMSubject: I LOVE my new doctor! I saw my new doctor yesterday and I LOVE her. She is well versed in MS, in fact better than some neurologists I have had before. She was easy to talk to and really took time with me. I will see her again in a month to check my blood pressure. I had stopped taking both my blood pressure med and my thyroid med because of stomach pain and the horrible dry mouth I suffer with. She changed my blood pressure med because she said the one I was on was known to cause dry mouth. Why didn't any other doctor tell me that when I constantly complained of dry mouth??? She said I really must take my thyroid med, too. My blood pressure was up yesterday so I guess I really do need to take something:)She is kind, caring and treats me like an adult who is smart enough to make decisions on my health care. She asked me how far out I lived and how hard it was to get in to town. Of course, I live very far out and I can't drive anymore so it's very hard for me to get to town. Because it's hard for me to get in to see her she gave me a prescription for prednisone for the optic neuritis. She said I would have it to take when I feel the need. She does want me to call her if I need to take the prednisone. She also gave me a small prescription for pain pills in case I have a trigeminal neuralgia attack. It's a small amount that would get me through until I could see her. I love that about her. She truly understands what it's like for me to be so far out. I think she was working on the Whiteriver Reservation before coming here so that could be the reason she is so understanding of distances and the impact on seeking health care. I hope she never leaves!!!I just had to share with you all. I have complained and whined here on the group about my dissatisfaction with my previous doctor. My daughter, Challis, took me to the doctor yesterday. Then we went to our favorite Chinese restaurant for lunch to celebrate Challis' 41st birthday. Then off to Walmart to shop. Finally we ended up at the grocery store in our little town and Dollar Tree. It was a great day and I was so exhausted. This morning when I woke I thought it was Saturday. I was so 'rummy'. lolhugs!
