I am also having low back pain. My back burns and hurts like crazy. I have had several back injuries so I just chalked it up to that. I hope it's just a fluke and the back pain is from something like my bed suddenly.Trisha, are your tumors benign? What causes them? SharonThis email is a natural hand made product. Sharon, I had frequency and what seemed good

volume just before the low back pain began, but I didn’t have spasms. Then

there was a period of urgency every 15 minutes, but dribbles. I tested no

infection, but my bladder was not emptying – even when I had good volume.

I had lower back and flank pain, but the CT shows I also have liver and

bone tumors, so it’s difficult to pinpoint what is causing the pain. Trisha

I

don't know if this is MS related or not. I am have very frequent

urination and a lot of urine most of the time. I don't hurt at all but I

am getting some spasms in my bladder when I need to urinate. This has

been going on for about 2 weeks but does seem to be getting worse.

Anyone else have this?

Ah – it could be the same then? The

urologist found that my bladder was not emptying – even with all that volume! The

pain was due to the pressure backing up on the ureter tubes. I’ve been having

a daily LARGE glass of cranberry juice to keep that stagnant urine from

becoming an infection. Neurogenic bladder is a term you can google.

The status of the tumors is unknown - if

not benign, then most likely metastatic. We’re going to monitor with quarterly

blood results.

Are you cathing, Trisha? I'd be surprised if it wasn't suggested in this case.

No. I was told to make bathroom trips

each hour, with a 15 minute followup visit after each. There are days when 30

minutes is the longest I can go between trips. And there are days when

dribbles are all I produce every 30 minutes. I see the Urologist this week, to

follow up. Yesterday was much better, so I’m hoping it’s resolving.

How long have you had this. It's a common problem in MS to not be able to empty the bladder and the answer is usually self-cathing. It's not healthy to not allow the bladder to empty. Please let us know what happens when you see the urologist.

I’ve had this for almost 2 months

now. I let it go until the pain hit my lower back then went to see if I

had infection. There was none 3 weeks ago and I’ve been very

careful since. I’ve now had two pain free days! My hope is

that the bladder is now back to normal function - but the sono will tell for

sure on Friday. I’ll post the results then.

I have the feeling that this will be the

second clinical issue – which would possibly bring a formal diagnosis of

MS…

I forgot you didn't have a definite diagnosis yet. This just may do it for you. How do you feel about that? If you are anything like me I was happy and relieved to finally get a dx. Of course, there was also a certain about of sadness that went along with it. hugs SharonThis email is a natural hand made product. Oh, well… less ok than when I first

had that possibility presented, but still ok. I have always had the

ability to willingly accept anything that came along (I have never had good foresight

to give me hesitation in any way) – and then comes the realization once I’m

in the thick of it, that I really had no idea what the heck I was getting

myself into. That’s some of what I’m feeling… But

I’m still ok with whatever comes along (la de dah de dah, lol).

I’ve now had three days pain free –

no lower back or flank pain, and the bladder pressure is feeling fairly normal

with pretty regular volume.

I’m so glad to hear that your

problems resolved, Sharon.
