A little more than a week ago, when our friends who lives abroad was visiting, another friend, Annica, who lives on the west coast of Sweden, also came by and stayed over night. She is well known for asking questions like: If a giraffe and a gorilla had to fight each other, who would be considered the "bigger" one? (I.e. should it be how tall you are, how much you weigh, or sheer volume?)She really has a mind all of her own, and if you go with the flow and answer her questions you may end up having a really fun (and probably unique) conversation. One (early) morning the weekend she visited, as we were talking over coffee she came to mention the impending royal wedding, and I just had to share the resulting conversation with you all. Here goes:Annica: Don't you think that in a truly democratic society everyone would have had a fair chance of marrying the crown princess?I: Well… since she is marrying a commoner, everyone did have a fair chance didn't they?Annica: She has not met everyone. She has not met you for instance, or has she? I: No. She hasn't met me. Or I haven't met her. Annica: There you see! How is that a fair chance?I: Well… Do you realize just how old she would be when she finally got married, if she had to date every man in Sweden before that? What's that, something like 4 million dates, at least, assuming there's only first dates. How long time would that take?Annica: Every man? Now, lets be modern. She should meet every woman too, before she makes up her mind. I: OK, but that's twice as many dates then, it would be double the time wouldn't it?Annica: She'd have to do speed dating of course. I: Super speed…. So... would YOU want a chance to marry her then? For real?Annica: No. But I'd like a fair chance at , and I think the same rule should apply there. Everyone should have a fair chance at marrying . I: ….But he is not even royal, yet. How could any laws or rules concerning the royal family apply to the chances of marrying him?Annica: He is not royal YET. But, obviously, as soon as he is married and thus is His royal highness, he should start speed dating too. Well… obviously…LOLlove/Reb
