Guest guest
Me: >Has anyone else, who is a diehard sweet tooth, noticed reduced cravings and >tolerance for sweets since going more NT? : Yes, but it's more complicated than that. I think it's possible to construct a high-carb and very sweet diet from NT, in which case you probably wouldn't lose much if any of your sweet tooth. Me again: Yes, you're right - there's no monolithic NT diet that we're all adhering to. I should've been more specific. I've cut waaaay back on grains and carbs in general. I've increased fat intake - mostly through raw milk, meat fat, butter, and eggs. I also went from eating no red meat, and very little poultry or fish, to eating lots of red meat and a little poultry and fish. So, there's been a definite reduction in carbs and increase in healthy fats, as well as meat. Having said that, I don't mean to give the impression that I don't eat *any* sweets, because I do. I have fruit everyday, often have rosehips that contain fructose, and I *am* addicted to 's ginger chewy candies. They're these little chewy candies that have a powerful ginger punch. I often have a few after meals. But, I no longer crave ben and jerry's or chocolate, which is a major change in my life. Not only that - my tolerance for sweet tasting things has lowered so much that I have difficulty drinking straight fruit juice anymore. I usually have a glass of 's pure orange juice every morning, and often have a glass of pure apple juice later in the day. Suddenly I noticed that they're both too sweet to drink straight, so I dilute them with water, which is probably better anyways, so as to reduce insulin spikes. I'm wondering...what next? But as far as cravings *in general* go, I still crave salt as much as ever! And pretty much any carbonated beverage, although not soda. I just love bubbles, don't know why. So, I can say NT is strongly affecting my sweet cravings, but not my others, at least not yet. Suze Fisher Web Design & Development http://members.bellatlantic.net/~vze3shjg/ mailto:s.fisher22@...
