Nada Meltdown in 3,2...

Mi nada had an acute episode again. Everything was fine and she started picking

a fight with my dad after a month of relative peace. My uncle (mother's brother)

lives abroad and we found out his bank was charging him everytime he transefered

money from his US account to his foreign account. Since he is on a very limited

income it adds up to a good amount and my mom told my dad about it. So mi dad

decided to call the bank and find out what was going on. Sure enough my uncle is

not supposed to be charged anything. The bank said that they could only refund 3

months worth of fees and they also gave us an international phone number my

uncle could call to straighten everything out.

Unfortunately my uncle changed his phone number recently and we have no way of

contacting him directly. He lives is a semi-rural area and does not use email

etc. either. Luckily his nephew Vic lives about 15-20 minutes away and while we

don't have his number either we do know someone (his brother ) in the

states who can pass the message along. So mi dad gets the info and is about to

call that person but then my mom butts in and tells him not to. WTF? She just

talked to LAST week for hours! Couldn't she call someone else HERSELF

then? Nope, too much work. Then mi dad told her that the more time went by the

more the money my uncle was going to lose.

My uncle gets along well with him, so mi dad got really annoyed and decided to

call anyway because that's the only option he had. wasn't home and

my dad left a message. That was a really bad idea because as soon as he got off

the phone my mom started chewing him up. She accused him of calling on

purpose just to bother her, then she said that he was pretending to do a good

thing for my uncle but was being passive-aggresive. Then my dad snapped back and

told her that she didn't want to bother doing anything for anyone even in her

own family. He then threatened to not pay for her yearly summer vacation and

when she said she wasn't going to put up with threats, she was going to kick him

out of the house etc. my dad tuned her out.

Sure enough nada flew into a rage and called him an asshole, a dog-faced lunatic

and a pig. I know it was a bit rude of him but he went 'bark, bark, bark' (LOL)

until she finally ran out of steam and shut up. He meant that she always barks

(figuratively speaking ) just to get her way and rarely follows through with her

threats. She finished of by walking off in a huff and saying that he would eat

dinner by himself today. When I asked her what all the drama was about and that

I shot another relative the abovementioned message via email she called me

stupid. Great, I am stupid because according to her I am too naive to see the

" nefarious true intentions " of my father. That's not the point, regardless of

his intentions my uncle needs help. Can't she SEE that? He's HER brother! That

whole incident was just so bizarre...
