Guest guest
Last time I did the infusion for a flare, my blood pressure skyrocketed. Not sure he wants to do that again. He said he thinks these strange attacks in my arms are bad bad nerve misfires, hence the neurontin use. And the neurontin also helps combat my Fibro. Just found out my neuro is out until tomorrow, but the other neuro just increased my neurontin and will hear from my neuro tomorrow to see what he wants to do as well. I'm also confused why your neuro is giving you neurontin for numbness. I'd think he'd want to put you on a solumedrol infusion or prednisone. As difficult as it is to do, I think you need to tell your husband. Dan U dao_nguu@... Have been slowly loosing the feeling in my finger tips and now it is spreading further into my hands. Several years ago I was having these strange attacks where I would get a horrible pain sensation in my left arm and then it would simply go numb and lay there dead and paralyzed. That has returned, but in my right arm. My hands now constantly buzz furiously and my fingertips are completely numb. My neuro knows about this and I am on the highest dose of neurontin possible to combat this. I am starting to sink into a low place and fighting that with all my might. On top of this, leaves for Afghanistan again this coming weekend! If I tell him what just happened in the shower he will surely stay and not take this job and we will suffer monitarily. But if he goes, then it is just me and my 9 yr old son alone and that scares me. What if this is the onset of waking up paralyzed? OMG I am in turmoil! I am scared to death! This disease has never scared me until this morning. This attack on my arm in the shower was the worst one ever and after 30 min is still lingering and that has never happened. Guest guest
Ooops.. maybe my reply came a little too early.. didn't see the blood pressure skyrocketing thing.. But before I negate everything I said in my previous post.. there is some drug, administered IV, that can/will reduce blood pressure.. I just can't remember the name of it, but it was given to my niece in an attempt to reduce her blood pressure so that they could fairly safely perform a C-Section, due to pre-eclampsia.. Therefore.. if it's already known that the IV steroids are causing the rise in blood pressure.. it might be possible to do something to counteract the spike in blood pressure from the steroids.. and safely do both.. I still agree that this disease SUCKS!!! though HUGS |)onna Last time I did the infusion for a flare, my blood pressure skyrocketed. Not sure he wants to do that again.
