Guest guest
OK, back to reality. 4 days post ablation. Had my first INR check and nurse practitioner checkup today. Felt myself go into afib as I was driving into the office. Self converted to NSR in about an hour, without any dizziness or shortness of breath. Then my blood pressure was up a bit as well as my heart rate when she checked my EKG. I was in NSR. Of course she said to expect the afib bouts, but it was still a bit disappointing. I think I have always had a significant adrenergic component to my symptoms, be it afib or increased blood pressure. The BP gets up to the upper limits of " normal " , about 140/90, and my heart rate was 96. Funny, I could feel myself relaxing as I left the office. I checked my blood pressure at home last night. It was 110/70. Funny that someone that's worked in medicine for 30 years should have " white coat sydrome. " Anyway, have to up my warfarin for a couple of days and check the INR again next Friday. But I still do feel much better than last week, before the ablation. I guess it's about keeping the positive attitude. And thanks for everyone's encouragement.
