Different doctor, different patient, same sentence!!

Patient is somewhat lethargic but arousable.

How about???

Patient is somewhat lethargic but can be aroused.

How does that look??

I'll try it. I was thinking of changing as few words as possible since I

haven't rephrased anything as of yet, and I don't know how QA will react.

I'm sure they will let me know tomorrow!! lol

If you work with QA and you haven't changed phrasing yet, I would then

suggest flagging 'arousable' and speak with QA.......that way there won't be

any questions the next time. Some docs like things the way they say them,

and he might just like 'arousable'. I know mine would!! lol

Interesting.. All this time I've been typing arousable whenever they say it.

I've never been dinged for it by QA. I guess that falls under the verbatim

rule.

  • 7 years later...

I'll most

likely be on my way to either the infusion lab (somehow doubt

it) or to the Emergency Room (because the doctor can't squeeze

me in today) within a couple hours.

It was yesterday morning, but after the first get up and get

Earl out the door.. I laid back down for an hour after he was

out the door.. When I was wakened feeling the urge to go potty..

Unfortunately, that sensation came too late.. the bed and myself

were already wet.. soaked is more like it.. so I know that my

bladder drained on it's very own..

Besides upsetting me for hours.. I noticed that my legs weren't

working quite as well as they had been.. but it did get warm

outside yesterday.. and that would have meant that it got WARM

in here as well.. So I figured.. just the heat making things not

work so well as they did a while ago...

When I finally went to the living room for dinner and to watch

television (I did do a bunch of sleeping yesterday.. cause those

pills just knock me out) I noticed my legs just not working too

spiffy, once again.. but thinking.. ('s running around in

those lounger shorts.. nothing else, saying that it was a close

to nekkid as he could get to cool off).. So I mentioned, and

showed him that my legs weren't working like they should, before

we went to bed.. round 11:30.. and it took me all I could do to

get back into the bed, and situated.. Mentioned that I wasn't

certain, but thought I'd be calling the neurology nurse (again..

she's gonna get tired of me now).. in the morning..

Well during the night, the legs didn't get any better.. and even

pivoting into the chair is nearly impossible..

Called this morning at around 7ish.. talked to the neurologist

on call.. She suggested that I wait until the neurology nurse

get there.. and she thought they were in at 7:30 (they aren't)..

to see if my neurologist wanted to handle it differently than

bringing me in and admitting me.. Though she did say that if it

were her call.. I'd be on my way to the ER then.. but she is

hoping (with the upcoming holiday) that the doctor might have

another way to do the Steroids.. without having to admit me.. if

I came in through the ER.. I'd be admitted..

I wasn't too far off last week.. might not have seen the O.N.

then, but I'll bet it was lurking somewhere out of sight.. and I

guess that nagging pain in my back, between my shoulders was/is

actually an active lesion..

was going to load me up in the car this morning and head on

in, without calling them first.. I asked him just how he thought

he was going to GET me in the car.. if I can't pivot for a

toilet seat.. it's going to be really really hard if not

impossible to get me into the front seat of the car..

Well.. I've got the call in to the nurse.. and I'm waiting for

the return call.. 's already called his boss to let him know

what's going on.. and offered to come out here and help

him get me in the car or whatever it's going to take to get me

where I need to go..

So.. say a prayer, cross your fingers.. and hope with me, that

this isn't going to last long and that the steroids will bring

most of it back..

I'll keep ya posted.. cause thee laptop goes with me.. and they

have WiFi at the hospital too..

Danka!!!

I'm still waiting to hear from .. but I know that she's

busy.. really really busy.. she even puts it in her voice mail

greeting, that calls/messages left after 1 p.m. may not be

returned until the following day.. but just as soon as she can

answer all of them.. she does.... I expect to hear from her

probably a little closer to noon.. and then.. unless she's

bringing me into the office or the infusion center.. most likely

won't start the trip (unless they are waiting for me in the ER)

until later this evening.. But that will only be because their

waiting room is completely packed by 8:30 in the morning.. could

be empty from a certain point at night until then.. but by

8:30.. nothing but standing room only.. and then I'm thinking

(but I didn't really see it, did).. that the line is going

"out the door"..

Unfortunately, there are a whole lot of people in Oakland that

are visiting the ER for way less serious things than broken

bones, profuse bleeding, car accidents.. More of them are

looking for a bed for the night to get out of the cold.. and

three squares for the time they can stay in there.. So the ER is

packed.. So chances are very high, that if they can get me into

the infusion center for the first round of Steroids.. and then

make arrangements for a visiting nurse to do the rest of the

rounds.. they will.. If not.. well..

Time will tell.. and I will keep ya posted as to what's going

on..

Thanks Again...

So sorry to hear about this, Donna! Maybe they can get you right in and stop whatever is going on with steroids so you can feel better.

Here we go again!

I'll most likely be on my way to either the infusion lab (somehow doubt it) or to the Emergency Room (because the doctor can't squeeze me in today) within a couple hours. It was yesterday morning, but after the first get up and get Earl out the door.. I laid back down for an hour after he was out the door.. When I was wakened feeling the urge to go potty.. Unfortunately, that sensation came too late.. the bed and myself were already wet.. soaked is more like it.. so I know that my bladder drained on it's very own..Besides upsetting me for hours.. I noticed that my legs weren't working quite as well as they had been.. but it did get warm outside yesterday.. and that would have meant that it got WARM in here as well.. So I figured.. just the heat making things not work so well as they did a while ago...When I finally went to the living room for dinner and to watch television (I did do a bunch of sleeping yesterday.. cause those pills just knock me out) I noticed my legs just not working too spiffy, once again.. but thinking.. ('s running around in those lounger shorts.. nothing else, saying that it was a close to nekkid as he could get to cool off).. So I mentioned, and showed him that my legs weren't working like they should, before we went to bed.. round 11:30.. and it took me all I could do to get back into the bed, and situated.. Mentioned that I wasn't certain, but thought I'd be calling the neurology nurse (again.. she's gonna get tired of me now).. in the morning.. Well during the night, the legs didn't get any better.. and even pivoting into the chair is nearly impossible.. Called this morning at around 7ish.. talked to the neurologist on call.. She suggested that I wait until the neurology nurse get there.. and she thought they were in at 7:30 (they aren't).. to see if my neurologist wanted to handle it differently than bringing me in and admitting me.. Though she did say that if it were her call.. I'd be on my way to the ER then.. but she is hoping (with the upcoming holiday) that the doctor might have another way to do the Steroids.. without having to admit me.. if I came in through the ER.. I'd be admitted.. I wasn't too far off last week.. might not have seen the O.N. then, but I'll bet it was lurking somewhere out of sight.. and I guess that nagging pain in my back, between my shoulders was/is actually an active lesion.. was going to load me up in the car this morning and head on in, without calling them first.. I asked him just how he thought he was going to GET me in the car.. if I can't pivot for a toilet seat.. it's going to be really really hard if not impossible to get me into the front seat of the car.. Oh no Donna! Do you have home health that could come to your house for the IV solumedrol? I know a lot of people do it that way instead of going into the hospital. I hate to think of you being in the hospital for Thanksgiving but you must do what is best for you and your health.I'll be thinking about you and will add you to my prayers.hugs SharonThis email is a natural hand made product. I'll most

likely be on my way to either the infusion lab (somehow doubt

me in today) within a couple hours.

It was yesterday morning, but after the first get up and get

out the door.. When I was wakened feeling the urge to go potty..

Unfortunately, that sensation came too late.. the bed and myself

bladder drained on it's very own..

I'll keep ya posted.. cause thee laptop goes with me.. and they
