We barbecued pork chops, so nothing fancy. But they turned out great, if I may say so. And the potatoe dish was quite excellent too (we made it for the first time, and with no real recipe, only from a description my sister gave of what her mother in law was cooking for their midsummer dinner...). Maybe I would have thought it a little too salty to go with pickled herring (which was, of course, what my sister and her family had with it, it was the midsummer dinner...), but with barbeque it was quite superb. Would probably work well with smoked fish too. Tonight we'll try our hands at homemade ravioli...love/Reb Re: what's for dinner? To: MSersLife > Yes, it's served cold, and is refreshingly salty (and spicey). > The matjes variety is spiced with cinnamon, allspice, clove, and > usually sandalwood.
