Guest guest
I've always slept with jammas on, but hubby likes him nekked. I wake up warm and stay that way pretty much all day. It isn't until after my before dinner nap that I wake up cold and stay that way until I go to bed around 1 am. Once I'm under the covers I can warm up pretty fast. We still have a pillowtop water bed, and no heat on, so when the temps drop I wonder sometimes if the coldness of the water might be coming thru the layers of padding? Steve says no that the water is the same temp as the room. He likes the ceiling fan on too, but unless I'm warmed up then I won't warm up until its off. We keep the night time furnace on 68, and during the day its 72 to 73. Since I'm not up moving around very much I have to have it that warm in here plus I wear sweats and thermal tops. There's just something that happens after that nap that causes my body temp to fall, and I'm not too sure what it is? Circadian variations? I'm only down for an hour. Why cold then, but not after 4-5 hrs at night, and the 2 hrs in the morning? Something wonky is going on. :-) Hugs from Jackie in Oregon Subject: Re: Body TempTo: MSersLife Date: Wednesday, November 24, 2010, 8:54 AM The other night the house had cooled to about 61*. I had the ceiling fan on low, I started with a regular sheet topped by a flannel sheet, topped with a down comforter. After a bit, the comforter got tossed. After a bit more, the sheets got tossed. After a few more hours, they were all put back on. *sigh* it's probably a good thing I sleep alone, I'd drive someone nutty trying to keep up with my temperature changes! I usually sleep in the buff, that night I had on a long satiny nightie. That was the first night Rob was gone and I wanted to have something on in case he came back and tried something not-so-funny. I also made sure to lock all the doors and windows and had Robbin sleep with his cell in his pocket. ~*~Hugs~*~ ~*~Akiba~*~ http://www.affiliates-natural-salt-lamps.com/pages/156.php -- Body Temp Hi everyone,.....I know we've talked about this before, but I don't remember if anyone has experienced exactly what I have been noticing lately when I feel so cold. We were watching TV tonight and as usual my legs get really cold [also my hands], so I cover my legs from the knee down to my ankles. I have wool socks on with fleece slippers so my feet usually stay warm, and I can feel them being warm. Well I kept asking Steve [my hubby] why it was so cold in here as my legs felt like they were freezing. Of course he said it wasn't cold, and it was probably just me. I then had him come over and feel my legs to prove to him they were freezing, and he felt them BUT.......he said honey they are very warm to the touch!!! I said how could that be when they feel so cold to me? I have noticed this in other parts of my body now that I think about it, but its just so weird to have such a distortion of a sensory thing. Well as usual I looked up MS and cold body temps, and read quite a bit about cold hands and feet being very typical, but then I came across the below that explained what may be what I've been experiencing, and was wondering if anyone else does too? I just took a snippet of what someone else said in regards to this symptom. cold hands feet, etc. were "classic" for MS. Apparently, this is caused by a problem with communication to the parasympathetic nervous system and thence to the blood vessels in the hands , feet, etc. It's probably cause d by a lesion in the spine, but could also be... (and here he rattled off a couple parts of the brain, which I have not retained. I think one was the hypothalamus?) So do any of you relate to this. I even get this in bed all covered warmly with blankets and quilts and I am still cold in parts of my body. My hands and feet go thru cycles too, but I can feel them when they are cold. Guest guest
Jackie, I found that with our waterbed, way back when & before Dx.... Room temperature was like cold seeping into my bones when I slept on that thing.. didn't matter if it was summer or winter.. had to keep the heater running and the water temp at the very least 92 degrees.. I get the cold legs in the evening too.. well that seems to be just about when everything happens too.. the spasms in my right outside calf get really bad then too... and if I put that heated towel on the leg, the spasm will stop.. I can get through all day, nap or no, with no real problem feeling cold and such.. it's not until evening.. and I can't remember what time it was.. but it was always the same time every evening that it started as well.. and by 11 p.m... sometimes earlier.. I HAVE to crawl in bed, and get stretched out and covered up.. to get that stuff to stop.. And here I just thought it was me.. Now claims that when I snuggle in close to his back.. he HAS to get out of bed, because I'm throwing off so much heat that he can't stand it.. and has to get up to cool off and get a drink.. but if I'm rolling into him to snuggle into his back.. I know I'm trying to absorb his body heat.. But one of the "funny" things that occur around here is that Buster will let me put my cold feet (or what I think are cold feet) up against him and he'll stay there for me to get my feet warm.. But if puts his cold feet up against Buster.. Buster will get up and move!.. So.. are 's cold feet really cold.. and my cold feet, are only me, and they aren't really cold so he moves when tries to tuck his in.. and mine aren't? I know one thing to be true.. very very true.. I'm never going to understand the MonSter and the things it does or causes.. HUGS |)onna I've always slept with jammas on, but hubby likes him nekked. Me too! Several days ago I got cold and started shaking and trembling. My granddaughter checked the temp gauge and it was 64 outside. I felt like it was 10!
