Guest guest
A highly regarded MD who treats and has been treating PANDAS, (now referred to as PANS, taking just the strep infection portion out of it, as mycoplasma pneumonia and Lyme and co-infections can also produce this disorder/disease) was recently (finally) allowed to examine and test 8 of the girls. He recent press release states: 5 of the 8 girls have strep 7 of the 8 girls have Myco P. All 8 of the 8 have one of the infections listed above. Antibiotics are now being administered, and hopefully and prayerfully these families will find some relief. Personally, the original dx by a neurologist of 'mass hysteria' (sexist!) and 'conversion disorder' (meaning: we don't know, so it is all in your head) has been horrible- JMO. > > http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=could-infection-cause-tourettes\ -like-symptoms-teenage-girls > > " In the meantime, OCD expert Jenike, a professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, explains what PANS is and why it might account for the mysterious illness in Le Roy. Ou that p***ed me off sooooooooo bad. -Tammy Sent from my Kindle Fire
Guest guest
OCD appears to be from swelling of certain nerves from infection that has overtaken one due to imbalances or shortages in nutrients caused most popularly from toxins. This is because many report losing OCD from antibiotics, antivirals, Vitamin Bs (such as inositol), and replenishing microflora that produce Vitamin Bs. Reducing the toxin load also is reported to rid OCD. Keep in mind that toxins disrupt nutrients, leading to infections. Just saying that several theories are correct and go together. Strep and Bartonella seem to be the most common cause of OCD, and both are extremely easy to get. Probably those most susceptible to these infections have toxin loads and lack of microflora to produce certain B vitamins, the ones like inositol that our bodies are suppose to make from food via microflora. Taking inositol helps some, but not all because the problem is still the toxin and infection load. Some do not rid OCD by treating the infection because they likely have not replenished the correct microflora. Conditions are complex. This is why some things work for some people. Treating from several angles will help a lot more people. There are always exceptions to the rule, and at times, the problem may be permanent damage or damage not reversible even after ridding the infection. But, stay optimistic, for that is what leads us to go down this road to achieve recovery.
